About Nyvågar

Nyvågar Rorbuhotell is idyllically located by the Lofoten Sea, in the historically important area of ​​Storvågan. Here we have comfortable and spacious wheelhouses and a restaurant in the owner’s style. Bright meeting rooms with large windows provide an unobstructed view of the magnificent nature outside. We serve fantastic food where everything is homemade and based on the finest local ingredients. Then we have hot tubs, a sauna, a legendary Akevittloft and a charging station for Tesla and electric cars.

Become part of the northern Norwegian nature in our outdoor heated hot tubs. Here you can sit back and enjoy all the beauty around you; midnight sun in summer or real starry skies and the northern lights dancing around you from autumn to spring. The sauna has large windows facing mighty mountains and the beautiful Vestfjord. You are welcome to take a bath in the crystal clear sea water directly from the floating jetty in both summer and winter. Story – “From here comes the cod that we call Skrei”

In Florence, there are maps of the populated world from the Middle Ages. At the very top of the map is Vågar – the northernmost city in the world at that time. “From here came the Cod.”

Cod is still important. As fantastic food, fresh or dried, and as a carrier of culture to the whole world. But the Middle Ages are historically just a youth here with us.

    Our cabins have a small kitchenette with limited cooking facilities, suitable for preparing simple meals. If you plan to cook during your stay, check the facilities listed for your chosen cabin before booking. For breakfast and dinner, you are also welcome at Restaurant Nyvågar.

  • Is breakfast included in the stay?

    Breakfast is available at Restaurant Nyvågar. Our standard cabin rates do not include breakfast, but you can add the breakfast buffet to your stay. Please check your booking confirmation for what is included in your chosen rate or package.
