Northern Norway is one of the areas on the planet situated directly beneath the auroral oval, and thus has the most northern lights in the world. For aurora guests, the northern lights can easily be combined with fun outdoor activities, a rich and diverse cultural heritage, and interaction with a hospitable and entertaining local population.

In our Lofoten Loft Bar, you are welcome for a drink after dinner or to simply enjoy the view of the ocean with a glass in hand. We serve beer, wine and spirits and are proud to be able to present one of the world’s largest collections of aquavit – approx. 300 different varieties! Choose your samples from the collection or try our aquavit board with our recommendations. We also serve self-composed aquavit-based cocktails.

Become part of the northern Norwegian nature in our outdoor heated hot tubs. Here you can sit back and enjoy all the beauty around you; midnight sun in summer or real starry skies and the northern lights dancing around you from autumn to spring. The sauna has large windows facing mighty mountains and the beautiful Vestfjord. You are welcome to take a bath in the crystal clear sea water directly from the floating jetty in both summer and winter. Lofotspa is perfect after the ski trip, the mountain trip or before a tasty meal in our great restaurant.

Story – “From here comes the cod that we call Skrei”

In Florence, there are maps of the populated world from the Middle Ages. At the very top of the map is Vågar – the northernmost city in the world at that time. “From here came the Cod.”

Cod is still important. As fantastic food, fresh or dried, and as a carrier of culture to the whole world. But the Middle Ages are historically just a youth here with us.
